Is Stargate Abilene the same as Vantage Frontier?

No. Abilene is Crusoe's campus for Oracle and OpenAI. Frontier is Vantage's campus in Shackelford County, thirty-five miles northeast, also part of the Stargate program. Different owners, different gates, same housing squeeze.

What about Stargate in Milam County?

SB Energy's 1.2 GW campus near Rockdale is Central Texas, with its first building due in October 2026. We don't place rooms there yet—text us if you're headed that way and we'll tell you when we do.

Stargate in Texas is two campuses in the Big Country. The first, built by Crusoe for Oracle and OpenAI at Abilene, is finishing. The second—Vantage's Frontier campus thirty-five miles up the road in Shackelford County—is just getting going, with up to 6,500 workers at peak. Abilene ran out of housing on the first one.

The job

Two campuses, one housing problem

The original Stargate site is Crusoe's campus west of Abilene: eight buildings, about four million square feet, roughly 1.2 gigawatts, built in two phases for Oracle and OpenAI. Phase two started in March 2025 and was scheduled to finish by mid-2026; around four of the eight buildings are already operating. At peak the site hosted about 3,000 workers a day, rising toward 5,000.

Abilene—a city of about 100,000 that was already short some 5,600 homes—absorbed roughly 6,000 workers. Rental vacancy fell to 2.5 percent, apartment rents grew second-fastest in the country, and the city approved a 2,300-site RV park at Elmdale to catch up. It isn't finished.

Now the second campus: Vantage's Frontier in Shackelford County, at Highway 604 and Highway 351 near Albany. Twenty-five billion dollars, 1.4 gigawatts, ten buildings, first delivery in the second half of 2026 and construction through 2029, with as many as 6,500 workers at peak. Same labor pool, same roads, same Abilene. That's why our rooms for Stargate crews are in Albany, Breckenridge and Moran rather than in the city.
